2600 years ago, our Supreme Buddha dispensed the noble Dhamma with utmost loving kindness & compassion towards all human beings and devas. This noble Dhamma which is directed towards achieving the Supreme Bliss to eradicate suffering from the shackles of Sansara, was obscured with time. We are so fortunate to have a noble friend in such an era, to explain the exact derivations of Lord Buddha’s Dhamma in a simple and clear language without any change or addition to the fundamental teachings. This Noble friend is none other than our most Ven. Kiribathgoda Gnanananda Thero.

The initial Mahamevna Asapuwa was established close to the town Polgahawela and has spread all over Sri Lanka, forming branches in towns and villages, and extending beyond Sri Lanka like a huge tree, which springs up from a small seed, showing the world the excellence of the Dhamma.

The most Ven. Kiribathgoda Gnanananda Thero gathered an enormous Dhamma knowledge by reading the original Pali canon and he did not keep that knowledge to himself only. He educated young monks and acted according to the teachings of the Buddha “Charatha Bhikkawe CharikañBahujana Hithaya, Bahujana Sukaya”. These young monks are engaged in carrying out this noble duty of spreading the Dhamma all over the world. The big tree planted in Sri Lanka is not just an ordinary tree, reminds us of a sandalwood tree which spreads a fragrance all over the world.

These noble friends, whom we rarely come across in this endless cycle of Sansara, have been centered in Sydney for more than 3 years and have been carrying out this noble task of spreading Dhamma all over Australia.

The programs are organized in such a way, so as to understand Dhamma clearly and gain the maximum benefit, for different age groups such as children, youngsters and elderly people. It is hard to explain all the services carried out by Sydney Mahamevna Asapuwa, by a letter like this.

Those who are in search of the correct path to escape from the shackles of Sansara and gain the ultimate bliss of Nibbana, can join the Sydney Mahamevna Asapuwa and gain enormous happiness and supreme bliss.
