India At Home was established in 2003. The company started to import commodities like Indian Savoury’s and sweets, Ready to Eat Food, Indian cosmetic lines, Religious prayer items, Incense Sticks, Indian Tea and also natural Green Tea. As the demand for our branded products was growing we extended our product line by introducing lentils, peas, beans, pappadums, pickles and chutneys, herbs, spices, flour and rice to our product line.
As primarily we were wholesalers, who distribute these products to ethnic Indian Grocery shops mainly for consumption by the Indian food lover’s population in Australia but as the demand for Indian food was growing we diversified our business to the retail sector. We opened our first retail store in Dandenong in August 2006. After the success of our first store, we opened our second store in December 2006 in Clayton which was the hub of the Indian community.
As our brand India At Home was getting more recognised in Indian market we opened our third store in Footscray in September 2007 followed by our fourth store in Hawthorn on 26th January 2008. Our fifth India At Home store was open in Boxhill on 13th December 2008. In December 2009 we opened our 6th store at Burnside. Our 7th, 8th, and 9th store were opened in Glenhuntly in January 2012 followed by India At Home Epping in July 2012 and India At Home Dandenong plaza in January 2013. At India, At Home, we can proudly say that we are one of the fastest-growing Indian companies in Australia.
